Viral Affiliate Marketing
Viral Affiliate Marketing (instant and medium response marketing)
How you set it up:
- Setup an opt-in page and give away a free report, one or more one time offers(OTO) and an affiliate sign up on the download page.
- Send an email to a seed list promoting the free report. Some will take the report and others will become affiliates.
- Some of the affiliates will promote the free report and send traffic to the opt-in page.
- Some of the visitors, signed up by your affiliates, will sign up for the free report.
- Everyone who sign up for the free report, after submitting their name and email address, are presented with a one time offer. Some buy, some don't buy.
- The people who buy the one time offer through Paypal or your merchant /shopping cart are sent to the download page where they download everything. The people who don't buy the one time offer are asked to check their email so they can confirm their email address. They are sent to the download page when they confirm their email address.
It is important to send the address of the download page with the confirmation email in case they have problems with their browser.
- On the one time offer download page or the free report download page provide an offer to the people to become an affiliate.
- Provide promo material for affiliates and encourage them to start immediately.
- Repeat until the end of the promotion.

Much of the process relies on affiliate promotion, so there should be lots of promotional material available to them.
This should include: emails, blog posts, articles, product reviews, text ads, videos, links, classified ads, forum and email signatures, PPC ads and text announcements.
Affiliate sign up form:
Include a terms of service agreement that states the payout date, the promotion start and finish date, how commission are paid and the causes of terminated accounts or forfeited commissions (fraud, spamming).
Pay affiliates 30 days after the promotion ends to give yourself time to check things for irregularities.
Opt-in page tips:
- Use a simple, clean layout.
- Use testimonials and other proof.
- Use 4 - bullets describing the benefits of signing up.
- Use at least one PS.
- Provide a privacy policy.
- Use an attention grabbing headline.
- Put the opt-in form above the fold.
- Never ask for more than first name and email address.
Download page tips:
In order from the top of the page.
- Thank them for signing up or for their purchase.
- Provide the download link and instructions on how to download the free report.
- If the person paid for the one time offer, provide the download link and instructions here. (If only downloading the free report, ignore this part)
- Describe the benefits of signing up as an affiliate and provide a link to the sign up form. (which opens in a new window)
Reminder Email:
This email is sent a few minutes after the download page and promotes the benefits of signing as an affiliate. Include a sign up link the same as the bottom part of the download page.
Use Viral Inviter:
This script allows people to import contacts from their free email accounts (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, AOL, etc) or their address book/contact list on their computer and automatically blasts out an email with the affiliate sign up link embedded.
